The Little Things~

These were delivered to my office today. Wowsa! Let me just say I could have literally been knocked over with a feather. Seriously! First of all...my office is not really an office, but a room in the basement of my boss's home. And we just moved here last month so nobody in my life really knows I'm here. Or where exactly here is. So when Sean said someone was here for me I kinda went from zero to freakout in about 3 seconds because nobody would come to my work, especially in this weather, except for one of my family members. It wouldn't be for a visit. It would be bearing news. The kind of bad news you need to deliver in person.
With my thundering heart and shaking hands I walked upstairs. And what I saw standing at the front door left me speechless. Overwhelmed. Blissfully happy.

The most beautiful pink roses I've ever seen. For me. Sigh. Smile. Repeat. My hands were still shaking because I could not imagine who in the world would send these to me. "The holidays are over. My birthday has come and gone. Valentine's Day isn't for a month, and please...won't be expecting flowers then either." My brain worked overtime before I could find the little card hidden in the mass of heavenly scented pink flowers.

I read the card and for the first time in a long time felt apprecitated. Felt good about the work I do. Because these lovely flowers were sent to me by the wonderful guys who make up the E-Team--the foreman who I speak with daily but none of whom I've ever met, the employees who appreciate all the hard work I do for them. These guys took some time out of their day to send a little something special my way. I don't think I'll be able to stop smiling.
